One of the nation's top retail stores is planning to create hundreds of Phoenix sales jobs (

Macy's, Inc. recently announced its plans to hire 78,000 employees this holiday season, an increase of 4 percent from last year. Employees will be hired at Macy's and Bloomingdale's stores, call centers, distribution centers, and online fulfillment centers throughout the nation.
The
Phoenix Business Journal reports that Macy's will add seasonal workers at all of the company's stores throughout the Phoenix area, as well as the company's online fulfillment center in Goodyear and its call center in Tempe.
"We always hire aggressively during the holidays to ensure our customers are well-served in this
important shopping period," Terry J. Lundgren, chairman, president, and CEO of Macy's, said in a press release. "Our seasonal associates serve customers on the selling floow, work behind the scenes in store operations positions, interact with customers via the telephone in call centers, and staff the distribution and fulfillment centers that coordinate shipments to our stores and directly to customers who buy online."
Most of the seasonal positions are part-time and offer flexible hours.
However, candidates should be willing to work evenings, weekends, or
overnight. Some seasonal employees will be offered permanent employment
after the holidays.
"Working in a seasonal position at Macy's or Bloomingdale's is a great way to earn extra money during the holidays," Lundgren added. "Many of our seasonal hires are students on break, stay-at-home parents, individuals in career transitions or those with extra time they would like to use productively. Retailing is a fast-based business, and working at Macy's and Bloomingdale's during this magical time of year can be fun and rewarding."
Macy's currently employs about 170,000 permanent employees. The company operates about 850 department stores in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
